The ALA Virtual Communities and Libraries Member Initiative Group will meet on Saturday, June 26th from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. EDT.  The Second Life attendees will convene on ALA Island in Second Life, at 10:30 am SL time. 

Tom Boellstorff will speak about his 2008 book Coming of Age in Second Life: An Anthropologist Explores the Virtually Human.

Library and Information Science graduate students will talk about their experiences in Second Life, especially the Virtual Worlds: Libraries, Education, and Museums in-world conference held earlier this year.

We also plan to discuss future Virtual Communities and Libraries activities.  We also have heard a rumor (from a reliable source) that a surprise guest whom everyone will be interested in hearing plans to make an appearance at our meeting.

Also, the ACRL VW IG will meet on Saturday from 4:00 to 5:30 in the CAP South American Room.  SL attendees will convene on ALA Island, too.
