Travel with us as through a winter wonderland to Santa's workshop, a snowy Renaissance Village, a busy ski lodge, a romantic never never land of moonlight and ice and other places where you can enjoy the season from the comfort of your computer chair while sipping your hot chocolate as long as you don't get any on the keyboard. Mystery Manor Celebrates the Birthday of Edgar Allen Poe "The Father of Mystery"

Text by BOOKIE BALOGH Photos by VERDE OTAARED As this is a major year for Edgar Allen Poe, Mystery Manor is recognizing him with a diverse and fascinating series of displays and events.  According to Cyndi Uriza (Cynthia Alvarado in real life), “We thought since this is the bicentennial of Poe's birth, we should give credit to him as the father of the mystery genre.”  Paralleling the real life recognition of this significant author within Second Life has been a fascinating process, according to Uriza. Stop by Mystery Manor to see the exhibit, which will be continuing into November.  Covering Poe’s life, family, works and death, it is an entrancing look at the various aspects of an author who has made a major impact on the mystery genre – indeed, who created that genre in its modern form.
