The San Jose State University School of Library and Information Science Second Life Career Information Center is a gathering place and information resource for job seekers in library science looking for work in real-life libraries and in online settings. At the Grand Opening, on April 26, 2010, Lori Bell, Director of Innovation at Alliance Library System, spoke on career opportunities; Jill Klees, Career Consultant/Resume Specialist with the San Jose State University Career Center, gave an overview of the newly launched SLIS Career Development Website; Susie Quinn gaven an overview of the center's resources and videos; and the ceremony concluded with words from Jeremy Kemp Assistant Director, Second Life Campus

For people who are new to Second Life, these orientations will be an added opportunity to become familiar and more comfortable with the Second Life environment.  Each session will help you learn how to  text chat, move around, cam around, and hear voice.  There will also be tips on etiquette and what passes as Second Life good behavior.  Now if an individual is having a bad experience, hopefully this instruction will get them settled down and help learn how to have a good time in Second Life. Hopefully this instruction will prevent individuals from having a bad experience, and allow them to settle in and have a good time in Second Life.
